Cuba hopes to break losing streak in match-up with Canada

As the CONCACAF Gold Cup rolls on - this week in Charlotte, Cuba looks to grab their first win after two straight losses. Cuba is set to face against Canada on. Sunday. Cuba's head coach Raúl Mederos is confident his team can handle the challenge.

“I still have not had a chance to watch Canada, we are going to do it tonight, I think they are a great team, they have many interesting players, they have an experienced midfield, they attack with several players, those are their strengths, tonight we will study them and how we want to set up and tomorrow morning we’ll put together a final strategy," Raúl Mederos said. "They are a team with players up top that can incorporate into the center of attack so we’ll have to be wary there and so we’ll work on that.”

The Canadian team, however, is looking for more than a win this week. As they look to raise the prominence of Canadian soccer, having visions of the finals is a must.

"I wouldn't get out of bed in the morning if I didn't think that it was possible," Head Coach John Herdman said. "We've done our planning to see the US in Chicago and that's what a coach has to do."

The match between Canada and Cuba kicks off tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. eastern. Log on to adsn1.com for all your Gold Cup updates and news.
