Wells Fargo rain can't stop Homa
We're in a rain delay here in the final round of the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club. When play was halted, Max Homa (-15) enjoyed a three-stroke lead over Joel Dahmen with five holes to play.
Homa is looking for his first career PGA TOUR victory. In fact, in 68 career starts, Homa had never led after any round on the TOUR until he was one of three co-leaders after the third round, along with Dahmen and Jason Dufner. So far today, Homa is -4 on his round through 13 holes to open up a comfortable lead.
Earlier in the final round, defending champion Jason Day shot a 2-under 69 to finish at 4-under for the tournament. It was a disappointing tournament for Day, who shot in the 60s in three of the four rounds, but a 74 on Saturday pretty much sealed his fate.
Two-time champion at the Wells Fargo Championship Rory McIlroy began the day just two shots off the lead. But after 14 holes, McIlroy is tied for 12th overall at 6-under par (+3 for the tournament.
