Hornets Fall to Clippers in Nail Biter

Tobias Harris scored 34 points and Lou Harris added 31 points for the Clippers who defeated the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center on Tuesday night, 117-115.

The Hornets were led by Kemba Walker's 32 points and Jeremy Lamb who scored 22 points. Charlotte blew a chance to eclipse the .500 mark and now must face some of the league's stiffest competition on the road, starting with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

Here's our quarter-quarter recap...

1st QT - Much of the pregame chatter tonight centered on center Cody Zeller who returned after having surgery to repair a fractured right hand. Shortly after 6:00 p.m. a Tweet sent from The Athletic's Sham Charania stated that Memphis was in "strong talks" with the Hornets to trade its cornerstone Marc Gasol to the Queen City.

The Grizzies sat Gasol out tonight against Minnesota as they work out the structure of the deal with Charlotte, according to Charania. As a sidenote, Cody Zeller did return at the 6:23 mark.

2nd QT - Malik Monk is making a very strong case for starter. He has 8 points (3-7, 2-5). Kemba Walker ended the half with 25 points. Around 8:00 pm we learned that both Walker and Bridges were going to compete in 3-point shootout and dunk contest, respectively.

3rd QT - This quarter featured 65 total points with the Clippers cutting the deficit to single digits (8). Clippers' guard Tobias Harris has been solid tonight with 20 points (4-4 3-pt).

4th QT - A wild quarter in progress as the Clippers continue to shoot out-of-this-world from beyond the arc. Los Angeles is 17-21 from 3-point land (81%). Kemba Walker has 32 and and Jeremy Lamb has 22.

4th QT cont -Marvin Williams has just hit two free throws with 22 seconds left to tie the game at 115-115. Out of the timeout, LA's Tobias Harris hit a tough runner to put his club up 117-115. Harris has 34 points on the night.. Hornets called a timeout trying to get the ball in bounce. Marvin Williams missed what appeared to be a long two-point basket that would've tied the game. The Hornets fall one game under .500 with loss to Clippers, 117-115.
