On Monday the Carolina Panthers announced that the team has re-signed Eric Reid to a 3-year contract. The deal will keep the veteran Safety under contract with the team through the 2021 season.
Reid, formerly of the San Francisco 49ers, joined the Panthers in Week 4 of the 2018 season under a cloud of controversy surrounding his protests and kneeling during pregame anthem ceremonies.
In 2018, he recorded 73 tackles, five passes defensed, one interception and one sack.
Reid was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of LSU. Reid garnered 92 tackles, 11 passes defensed and four interceptions during his rookie season.
For those accomplishments, Reid earned Pro Bowl honors and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team that same year.
